Attempt to repeat MNR11-2 using a stoichiometric amount of methanesulfonic acid.



Hazard and Risk Assessment:
As for MNR11-1

MNR8-2 (70 mg, 0.15 mmol) in toluene (1 mL) was stirred with methanesulfonic acid (0.01 mL, 0.15 mmol) at room temperature and after 4 hours, TLC indicated that all the starting material had been consumed. The reaction was quenched with saturated sodium carbonate and extracted with EtOAc (10 mL x2). The organic fractions were dried over magnesium sulfate, filtered and concentrated under reduced pressure.
